New MK1 owner
Hi there, I am a new member and a 1st time MK1 owner. I have always wanted a MK1 ever since I got interested in cars and now at 33 I have finally got one. It is a 83 GTI campaign in lhasa green. Since getting the car home and having a good look at it and I have uncover quite a few jobs to keep me busy, mostly welding and mechanical.
I will post some photos when I get a chance.

The car seat is for my little girl. I am getting her interested in VWs from an early age.
My plans are to get all the mechanical bits running nice and then sort out the underneath. The body work is sound but there are a few holes and patches of rust to sort out underneath.

Fantastic car. I am very pleased it looks so great. Not sure if it has been painted again as I had it done in 1998. Sold it in 2003 ish. Wow cannot believe it.
Did you get the original wheels for it? The original P alloys were on it a few years ago as I saw it advertised on Ebay in 2008? Sounds like I stalk it but I don't, just by chance I saw it. Should have bought it back, was up for around £2k then. Hope you got a good deal on it.
If you need to know any history of it while I had it then feel free to contact me. Spent alot of time and around £1.5k on doing it up so know a bit about it.
Cheers for putting a smile on my face again.
