Hellow people my names alex and im looking to buy a mk1…Need some more info on them though, any buying guides you know of?

Also which engines does the GTI come with? 1.6 and 1.8?

Weclome, buying guide link on home page …….standard GTI's came with 1.6 and 1.8 engines but there are lots modified to have after market engines also

Series one was built upto around 1980.  Easiest way to tell a series 1 from 2 is the series 1 has the small rear tail lights and round instrument dials.  Other differences too but these are the ones that hit you first.

Good advice there but don't be put off by the AGM bit it's actually a Show we just tack the AGM on to.
