New lad checking in . . . .

Hello all   As the username suggests Ford's are more my usual cup of tea, MK1 Fiesta's to be fair, but I own a MK2 Escort more door and a fair few MK1 Fez's in various guises and states. I have always hankered after a MK1 Golf GTi and have recently purchased this little baby  :mrgreen:  :mrgreen:

I dropped it off last night at my mates garage in Manchester for a full service, cambelt & MOT and then she is off to the painters to be brought back to her former glory   A massive history file came with her and it is indeed FSH  :twisted: Looking forward to keeping you updated with the progress and I'm hoping it will be done in about a months time  

Bloody hell you dont hang about do you!!!!!  We'll forgive you on the fords…. to be honest most of us just like anything retro… I'd only buy a mk1 golf but can appreciate other cars!!!  Welcome to the mk1 family mate.  Check the regional section for meets in your area….. sure they'll love to see the finished product…. and post up loads of pics for us that cant see it in the flesh!!  :wink:

Well she went for an MOT yesterday, the wipers and fog's where not working transpires it was just dodgy electrical connections   She failed on emissions (half a tank of petrol in there that is at least 3 years old  8O) a broken coil spring on the N/S/R and two 50p size holes at the back of the cills so all in all not too bad at all  :mrgreen: Will be sorted over the next week or so and then re-tested, passed and off to be painted    

after 3 years mate thats a good result
