NEW! (just 'seen the light'!)

Hi all,
I've owned a couple of Vdubs in the past - Transporter westfalia camper (1.6D - slooow - but hey  8) ) and a '72 Karmann Ghia coupe - real head turner.  My wife has been driving a '92 cabriolet for the last 18 months as a daily drive and it was only recently - when given the chance to shift it on - that I realised just how attached to it I am!  So, time to invest some time and money and improve its condition!  

Found you guys while searching for some info on the fuse box http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=25530 and thought what a great site to get into!!

First thing I need to do is work out exactly what it is I'm driving (specific model) - I'm guessing I need to put the question in the Mk1 chat forum?

And a question about workshop manuals? Same again?

Anyway, good to be here and looking fwd to posting/replying with you all soon.

If you post up a pic in the Mk1 related chat section it'll be easy to identify what you've got.

As for the manual, I think the brown Haynes workshop manual is slightly better than the blue one (ordinary Haynes manual).
