New here !

 Hey everyone,
                          Back again after a 7 year break, I initially joined this site as a mk1 enthusiast without ever owning one, I've always been a fan of VW cars however times have changed and I am now the proud owner of a Mk1 gti 1983 reg, I bought it about a year ago but havent had the time to do anything with it, I also own a Mk4 Golf R32 which is my daily drive and a 1974 VW bay window camper van, my Mk1 was in good running order when I got her but as I have not been using it the battery has went flat and the starter motor jammed, I am not really bothered about this just now as I'm giving the car the full strip down and re spraying it Schwartz black, the car was originally Lhasa Green but the previous owner has sprayed it Helios Blue, been thinking about changing the engine too, but thats all in the future, anyway just thought I'd pop my head round the door and say hello, My Instagram page is Dubmeister7

The car looks like a good example. Although it looks a different shade to Helios blue from that pic. Are you sure it's Helios blue?

                You're right, the colour isn't helios blue, I'm unsure now as to what the actual name of the colour is, anyway looking forward to getting started with it, I had no money to spend on it earlier cos I was saving for my daughters wedding, so it sat in the garage for a year, the car is in good nick but there are areas of rust that will need to be seen to  !! I will be taking down to a rolling shell, engine out ….the lot !  

Looks similar to a colour the Mk2 came in as it came to the end of production. I do like it though. Make sure you put the stripes on the right way up when you have painted it!

the interior has probably been changed at sometime as  UK Lhasa green came with a petrol (green stripe) interior, unless it was a personal import. 

Royal blue I think? Looks really nice mate.
