I have two MK1s, both of which are sadly off the road at the minute and Im using a MK2 as a daily driver.

ive put them on the register but i hav a 1983 gx and a 1983 gl auto. had the gl about 3yrs and the gx about 6mnths. both fell into my hands as extreme bargains but ive been struggling with time/cash to sort them out!  hope to get the gl sorted withing the next few months & sell it to fund the gx. id like to keep them both but sadly its not practical!
the gl failed its mot few yrs ago but not on anything too serious, the bodywork is pretty good too. the gx runs well and hopefully wont need too much doing. although it does need some welding on the rear valance. the interior is mint &even has the original stereo.

What colour is the GX? I had an example in Atlas Grey some time ago. I think I sold it to some dodgy blokes who used it in a bank raid though!

ok, here goes with the pictures. theyre not great cuz as i said, theyre not moving at the minute and in quite a state - well the blue one is, so apologies! as theyre on my drive and in the garage, getting a decent angle is nigh on inpossible!!

Wow, interesting! I didn't know the GX has its own little centre piece for the steering wheel.

Is the dashboard really blue in the GL, or is that the camera?

I'd say that looks like a blue dash. Dubgrrl, welcome - what's happened to the rear panel on the GX (pulled away on drivers side) or is that work in progress? Great to see some more non-gti models

hi guys, sorry about  the photo quality. i was slightly drunk but also it was a new digi camera that day & they were taken in the dark!! not the best set up for good photos i know!!

the gl's dash is blue, infact everything is blue!! very retro / old granny!! i like it though but think will be selling this one shortly.

as for the gx, the work hasnt been started yet as im going to sort the blue one, sell it first and then start the gx. it seems to run well although only driven it bout 20miles. did seem to hav slight probs getting 1st gear but maybe it was just cuz i wasnt used to it? ive got a new rear panel & boot & door. think i will be ok just doing the rear panel & repairing the other bits - the new bits came with the car! ?50 bargain!!

Not having that….First night drunk with a digital camera and the best photo's you could come up with were your cars! I bet…..Dubgrrrrrrrrl. Good job this is a family show!! Take it easy….Walt!

Top camera tip "don't take photos when you're drunk they come out pants!"

No seriously you have used night mode which creates an over exposure effect. You can tell by the yellow and white burning. You can use this at night but you need a steady shot to avoid blurring. I like it as it gives a sense of state at the time.

Say's you there….Chastising us but yourself sliding in secret messages to Dubgrrrrrrrrrrl letting her know that you will be coming out of your pants if she were to bring the digital camera round to your house!!! Do you think we wouldn't notice……Shame on you!!!
