New Dubber In Town!.....

Hi, mine name is Rich. I've recently got myself a 1983 Golf 1.1C to play with, and thought I better drop by and say hi. I've had a few VWs in the past; including a lovely mkiv gti, but this is my first proper old skool dub and I love it! :mrgreen:
It's not in the best of shape at the moment as I bought it as a project to get back on the road. I'd love to have her back in the game by the summer, but we'll see how it goes. I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of reading on here within the next couple of months!

Cheers. It's not too bad body work wise, but it runs like a dead dog   I've replaced the fuel filler and filter, and think i may need a new carb.

A good old Formel E model, my sis had one of those years ago. Hope you get the running problems sorted soon. Get some posts up in the technical sections if you haven't already - sure you'll get some good advice.

Thanks, it's always good to meet other dubbers! Yeah, I think I'll post in the technical area about my carb, as I can't figure out whats wrong with it and I don't want to replace it for no good reason  :dontknow:

I been told I need a new carb also so am sourcing one as we speak.

But got my cabby running this week so have been running around town and enjoying it.
