New boy!
My name is Ross and i bought my 2nd MK1 Golf yesterday
My 1st was a 1983 Campaign which i regrettably sold to a guy who crashed it weeks later
My new (well new in 1982) car is a red Golf C with a 1.8 16v KR engine in
The outside is pretty standard (still with original paint and Golf C badges!) apart from it sitting nice and low on 8&9 x 14" Schmidt TH Lines (gotta have a bit of show 2 go with the go in my opinion!)
However it has an issue running issue at the mo………Ill be driving it down the road and the revs will just die to 5-800rpm (pushing the throttle does nothing) then it will suddenly rev again seconds later! Sometimes it wont go rev again but if i turn it off….leave it a few seconds and restart it it will run fine for a minute or so..
:dontknow:
i had to stop 4 times on a 2mile journey last night
I will get some pics of the car up as soon as i can…..
Any help on the running issue will be greatly appreciated

Just been looking at some other posts and my symptoms are exactly the same as those who have knackered dizzys!
Maybe thats something that should be looked at

as already stated it may well be a blockage somewhere, my CL had the same kind of issue and that was down to rust etc in the fuel tank blocking the hole in the sender unit ….

hey no worries
for a quick fix with mine the AA man made the hole in the sender unit slightly bigger , but only problem is now is that bigger bits of rust get through and block up the fuel filter…
hope you get it sorted out
