Well, I have had about 4 Mk1 golfs in the past but never had the money to do them to a fantastic standard. I am looking for a 1.8 Gti. I am a builder so I am wondering if I will be able to adjust my skills to restore a Mk1 golf. I am very hands on. I would love to do a full restoration.I am very inspired when I see some unbelievable quality Mk1s out there. I go to the Vw festival in Harewood House Leeds every year and there is always a great turnout of Mk1s there including some from this club. Now maybe I need to buy one that is an unfinished project to save some time and money. I plan to keep the Mk1 and only bring out in summer so it has to be the right one. I don't want to do any radical changes. Just a shit hot paint job, nice interior, nice wheels and some detailing to make it a bit personal. I do not want to do anything that follows a fashion or trend. Could you send me a few pics of your Mk1 golf on jazman20024u@yahoo.co.uk
Thanks Jaz
Thanks Jaz

Hi
Welcome to the Mk1 Golf Owners Club, enjoy your stay and feel free to browse around the forum and ask any questions you may have, we are all a friendly bunch, and will try and help where we can : - )
If you are looking to save money make sure you check out here:
The Mk1 Golf Owners Club
For just £15 a year for paid membership, you have soon saved more than the paid membership free on discounts from the partners that support our paid members, and on top of that help the club keep going.
As a club we encourage people to meet up, make new friends and share experiences and knowledge we have all had with our golfs etc , so if that's your sort of thing keep an eye on the Regional and National pages below, where there will be details of meets in and around your location. Also details of who your Regional Host is or are, feel free to contact them about meets in your area also.
