Hey Lou,

Welocme to the site.

I've also had to do my gearlinkage along the way, quick note - I bought the gear linkage kit from GSF and it was missing something that wears a lot, it's like a plastic ball on the end of a stick - sits in a square box - got mine from Volkswagen in the end (you may / may not need it)

Also if you do it yourself, don't forget to mark the horizontal select rod which comes from the bottom of the gear stick as it's pain in the bum to find it's location! (I know from experience haha)

You live you learn!

progress report

well, gear linkage is now sorted, he charged me 40 quid to change the lot which  i thought was very reasonable, but…. now we have another problem when driving it he said it feels like its driving on ice, so maybe its the tracking or could be the 16 inch alloys on it that are scraping the arches, so ive got to decide, new 14 or 15 inch alloys or buy low profile tyres for the 16 inch ones, so i still havent driven her yet, and cant afford new ones till after santa been and seeing as i got the car for chrimbo dont think he will be bringing me any :( so watch this space … cheers Lou :)
