mk1 cabriolet

hi all need help again please ..
please does somebody have the answer!!!
 i have a 1.8 i cabriolet 1983  after it has warm up from cold starting it seems to tick over at about 1500 -1700 rpm have adjusted the throttle  cable screw in but this does not do anything.
i have herd talks about a cold start valve or am i talking rubbish lol.
can any body help out please this only happens when engine is warm thanks.

Well if the cable is fully backed off there are 2 options…

1. Check for vacumm leaks.. This can cause the car to idle high.
2. Adjust your idle with the hex nut on the back of the throttle body.
