Door card off, little adjuster pin or something to make the window stop higher up sorted it. Now goes all the way up, no gap.
If you've already done that, and it's a new hood, then I'm beat, sorry.
Maybe look at how the glass is clamped to the window winder mech? Make sure it's not making any slack and is clamped on the very bottom of the glass? - Just thinking out loud.

Was this a brand new roof or an old second hand one on a frame?
What material is it?
Did you use the correct size gasket seals as in OEM?
Pictures of the Problem would help also.
cheers

These are the clips that I was referring to (didnt really know what else to describe them as) they are just next to the header bar on either side. Well I have never had these on my car and I was wondering whether or not they are needed or whether they were on all models? also if anyone knows where to get them from or what they're called? As I mentioned I have a 1986 C reg CC.
See I still have a leak and I was wondering if it could be to do with this? it leaks in on the manual close handles. I have siliconed the front screws that hold the rubber seals in place and back along the runner a bit. I also got new foam gaskets from VW. Another thing that I have noticed is that there are no roof rams at the back either but there is nothing to secure them too anyway so I was wondering if they were ever there or if they were needed?
Thanks so much for your help.
Liam.
