mk 1 gti convertable

right im new to this site, i am an active member on the hilux puckup owners club so im no stranger to older rides( i have an 89 hi lux so rust is nothing new to me lol). but i have always wanted a mk 1 and when i was coming home from the pub the other day i saw one at the top of my street for sale it looks ok and the price seemed ok at ?1200 but i would be greatful of any advice on buying one please. and one more question does the body remove from the chassis thanks lee

The body is a one piece mono………….. erm mono…cock……

It does not have a seperate chassis.

You may want to look in the restoration section for pointers on what to look for.

But with help on here most problems can be sorted.

The car you are looking at what is the year, model etc
