hello and welcome.
nice ride btw. i like the euro style bumpers, even if they are a little bigger than the old skool euro ones, they still look cool.
i'd get those reflectors off the sides quick smart. unless you're going to keep it original spec?!?
good luck with it. you'll find loads of advice on here, if you're stuck use the search engine on here.

she needs some sorting and some body work. the front drivers side fender need replaced, passenger side door needs replaced and the top needs replaced. but she runs strong (tho rough) and drives good. VERY little rust (surface) underneath. After i get her sorted and restored I'm going to change the motor and trans over to something manual and powerful. maybe a 1.8T and six speed out of a GLI?? not sure yet. I don't know if i want to make it too fast as it is my wifes car.
This is my Toy, yeah not a MK 1 but….

welcome its interesting seeing some of the little differences between the state side cabbys and the uk spec ie the rear brake light on the boot, sorry trunk and you have no side indicator repeaters on the front wings and those nasty looking reflectors on the sides.
im looking forward to seeing progress pics, your toy looks fine too
is it me or does your house look like the Munsters House

I've been on enough European forums to know what your saying when you say Boot, Hood and Bonnet.
The side markers are probably going to be shaved, a repeater added and the third brake light shaved also.
My wife just informed me that she want the car a deep pearl purple when we are done with it. So, theres going to be color changes thru out. It's going to be a long road as moneys alittle tight and we would like to visit Europe in the next couple of years (hopefully that dumb ass Bush won't make everyone hate us before then) but she'll get there.
As for the house, I wish that was mine thats a $5.5 million "castle" (about as close as we get here in the states) in Kalamazoo MI called the Henderson Castle. It's now a Bed and Breakfast and Is an incredible place to visit. My house is the one in the pics of the Cabby, Not quite as big or expensive but, keeps the rain and snow off us.
