kind of new

joined in 2007 but shortly after joining i sold my mk1 golf i had, its still kicking about on here i think, blue 5dr, its now really really low. A565 KKN was the reg of it.

after selling that i bought a mk2 polo saloon, which i owned up until late November 2010, and sold it. i liked it, but it wasnt a mk1..

in December i bought another car, now i own a 1981 Mk1 Jetta 'L' - 1.3 with a polo 5 speed gearbox in (already fitted).

thought i'd re-join on here as its the closest club im going to get to (of my knowledge).

here are some pictures of it.

got a few things i want to do to it, its currently lowered 40mm, i want to go a little lower. which leads to a question - how easy/hard is it?

besides from that, and getting a semi decent sound system in it (nothing major) all i want to do is tart up the bodywork, make it clean and solid.

want a different steering wheel, after a wolfsburg one, the one with 3 chrome 'arms' coming off it, and a deep whole where the horn is. not sure if it has a name  :dontknow:  besides from 'steering wheel'

i think thats enough, Damo

Everyone calls it a Wolfsburg steering wheel ;)

I thought there was a Jetta club/forum? - but you're welcome here. It looks tidy

Nice pick up, there's one local to me, it looks the business but sooo low. I've been driving behind it and there's sparks coming out from underneath all the time where it scrapes!

not local to Cheddar, i live near Brighton, in September i went on a miniature road trip and headed west.

went to Haynes Museum in Yeovil, went up to cheddar, along to somewhere else, back down to lyme regis area stopping of any many different places on the way, hitting the country roads with the underneath of the split. then to Durdle Door, new forest for a little vw show then home.

doing something similar again this year, but maybe less travelling, and will probally head down to newquay/cornwall area.

richievr - i did put a thread up on here a while back asking where it was and someone replied to it and put a few pictures up of it, it looks pretty cool. and my friend went to Wheels Day and took lots of pictures and i was looking through them and saw it there.

nice feeling to know its still going.
