Just bought a mk1

ive just recently purchased a mk1 and understand this was a feature car years ago does anyone have any info at all? :dontknow:
i understand its not to everyones taste but i like it

thought i'd see it befor :scratch: , i was working down that way about 2 months ago and saw this and another mk1 in a car park looking very unloved.

well to be honest i wanted a mk1 i would get in and drive….and use as a runaround and this one may need more time then i expected so im weighing up my options…half of me is saying to spend abit of cash and make it a real nice head turner and the other half is saying dont do it (as once you start your never stop) to be honest i didnt get off the greatest of starts with it…got a punture on the way back!

ive had a look at the previous owners and one of them was a Mr Skeete? i understand they made bodykits in the 90's does anyone have any more info on them?
its also got a flown head with cam, adjustable cam pulley, big bore neuspeed intake ventury,bored block & balanced crank ? well thats what the previous owner told me anyway! :dontknow:  :mrgreen:

he must have spent a few quid on them seats :dontknow:

i recon someone has spent a fair bit of cash on it, the guy i bought it off told me it was in max power (or equivalent in the early 90's)
the wheels are by zender and i dont think they were cheap either  :dontknow:

i have defno see that car on the cover of a mag years ago just cant think which one, if you could find what mags its been in, may help in discovering the history. like already metioned someone has spent ton of cash on that back in the day dude

oooohhh i know that car very well, been driving past that car for the past 3 years or so!!!! sat huddled up under some maisonettes on the esplanade in Rochester with an (unloved) white gti next to it, i remember it from the gti shows, from recolection it had something to do with "DEUTCHCAR" but i cant remember 100%  its had a bit of transformation in its life! and it certainly is bright! good luck with getting it how you want it mate, and i still like those zender rims

my circumstances have now changed and im going to have to sell it as i need a car i can use daily and not an on going project(seemed a good idea at the time)…it may seem abit suspect that ive only just bought the car but im really am gutted…and this is a genuine sale if anyone is interested please let me know…..or willing to do a deal/swap for a daily mk1

well ideally id still like to own a mk1..somthing abit more practical? when i saw it i just bought it without even thinking…now im thinking that was a very bad move as ideally i need a car real soon
