hello, welcome aboard. my girlfriend has a rivage. hers was a bit slow and so i cleaned out the air pipes and throttle body and that helped . not 100% but i thought rivage wheels are 15 inch ?  anyway any problems people on here are very good at solving problems.

click onto forum, different catergories .  from the top of the air filter follow the large plastic pipe along and that goes to the throttle body, this has a butterfly type flap inside herE  gets a layer of gunk around it, worth cleaning out pipe also.  where are you based at ?

We always use a spray brake cleaner on throttle bodies at work. Seems to do the trick although only lasts for 6 months or so sometimes. Its a Wurth product. I would take the throttle body off the car totally to clean it as the brake cleaner is not good stuff to run through your engine 8O

The throttle body sits between the rubber air intake hose and the inlet manifold. If you take the rubber intake hose off you will be able to see two flaps that will open/close as you operate the throttle. Thats the bad boy there

Does this happen every time, or only after overnight or standing for over (about) 6 hours?

If so, your injectors may be leaking, flooding the cylinders.

Test: Start up in the morning, run for a minute, then switch off. Re-start, and if it starts immediately the second time, then the injectors are the most likely cause.

Let us know, either way…

I presume that you mean it started ok after the week's holiday, that might be because the fuel in the cylinders has a whole week to escape past the piston-rings into the sump (bad for the oil, and the bores, by the way).

It could be other things, but you can't yet rule out the injectors - here's the definitive test:

Get 4 clean jam-jars, and tape them together like this: "OOOO" (helps stop them falling about the engine-bay).
Pull out the injectors in the evening, after driving the car (spray in some lubricant, they can be stiff, but persevere - be careful not to damage the braided hose or the crimped end just above the injector body.
Put one in each jar, and leave them overnight.
If there's any fuel in any of them in the morning, you need a new injector (or injectors). If they're all dry, it's something else.
