It's all new to me !

Hi everyone, thought i should register on here as I have been a vw owner pretty much all my life (since strarting to drive !)
Anyhooo, I have had a VW Golf Mk1 Convertible in my garage for about 2 years and used it twice.  I have always wanted to "do it up" but never got round to actually doing it.  Jetski's and host of other random buys seem to overshadow it (not really sure why though cause it looks really nice).  Anyway the final straw is that I crashed my newly purchased westfield several weeks ago and the wife tells me it has to go !  So I am thinking why not spend the money from the sale on doing up the Mk1….good eh !?
The thing is, I would like to keep it original but with some modern tweeks on the bodywork maybe, firstly though I am so confused on the ACTUAL model of the car GTI, CAMPAIGN, KARMANN (what ever that means) etc.
I have read all the stuff regarding what you believe the Chassis number to be for a campaign, but also reading the spec of this particular modal, mine seems to have a few of the bits !
It has a WVWZZZ15ZEK chassis number and DX Engine number if that helps.  it is an 1984 1800cc engine with a GTI badge front and back, Karmann badge each side by the door and has the twin headlights, Oh also the adjustable exterior mirror knobs.  The car is white with white interior (bolsters are white leather/plastic?) and has a white hood (power hood)
Any idea what the car could be ?

Could be an 'all white' edition.  They all have Karmann on them, it's the name of the factory they come from :wink: Anyway, as said stick some pics up and we'll see.

Can't seem to get photo's up, it's not the easiest site to post stuff.

So, I have had a lot to think about over the past week or so, the wife has come to terms with my relationship with the Westy (well…..I cried for about 3 hours, stood on the window ledge of my bungalow a threatened to jump if i couldn't keep it for track use at least !)  I really can't justify keeping the both cars. MK1 is a cool classic but I would have to spend time and money on her to preserve her good looks and the Westy is a powerful beast waiting to make me wet my pants in excitement, yes she will also take my money like a dirty whore but I think it may be worth it.

Let me know your thoughts, I really cant decide !

Spend ?8k on the Golf and it will be quicker than the Westy! And a bit more practical too.

Its personal choice, but you could easily make a mk1 faster than your westy by putting a little bit of money into an engine conversion, and it would be a real sleeper! No one would be expecting a little old mk1 to be so quick after all!

I rekon most people on this site are going to say mk1  :wink:
