Is it a MK1 or Not?

Hi, i'm the proud owner of an all black 1990 H reg Gti Cabrio. would anyone be able to tell me if this is infact mk1 or Not? i thought it was untill recently when i was told by a few people at car show that it was a mk2 as mk1's went out of production in 1987! Confused. Please help! Thanks Mark

its a mk1

they didnt make a mk2 rag top

the mk 1 golf went out off production on the a plate a couple off b reg's are about though they continued production of the rag top till 94/95 i think

someone else will prob be able to give u better dates but yes its deff a mk1

Mk1 cabs have 1 and 5 as the 7th and 8th digits in the VIN and stopped production in July 1993
