im back

Hi all im back
After buying my 1.8 golf gti for £300 back in 2005 then spending about £3000 to get it back on the road. This was doing all the work myself including striping down to the bare shell, welding arches and sills (this was all the welding the car had ever had not bad   ). full respray inside and out then total rebuild of engine with no expence spared. brakes, suspension, Trim, windows (i broke the windscreen  :redfaced: ) wiring loom oh how i remember the wiring loom basicly 9 months of hard work.
This was all worth it though as i loved the car and used it untill 2007, this was when i moved house with a smaller garage and as the previous owner wanted to buy it back i sold it for £3000.
Two weeks ago i had a text off the now second  time owner asking me if i would like to buy it back for £400.
Wow i could not believe my luck i was straight round. He had not done a single mile in it since i sold it 4 years ago it was covered in dust, plaster boards on the roof and bits of wood and rubbish leaning up the sides of it. He told me that he would like the car to go back to a good home and he needed the space in the garage and this was the reason for it been so cheap so i said ok  :D .
Well saturday was the day i got my old skool baby back.
It had not even been started in 2 years plus the battery was clapped but with a couple of gallon of fuel and a jump off my car which just about turned the starter it fired back into life. A bit of air in the tyres and that was it i was off driving my gti again with the biggest smile on my face ever.
One thing is for sure i wont be selling it again in a hurry. For now i am just going to give it a good check over and full service before putting it back on the road.
see you all soon regards one happy chappy

Now its had a good jet wash it all looks pretty much the same now apart from a couple of small rust scabs and a few light scratches.
