1.6 finished in '82 IIRC
Welcome to the club, replied to your post in the general section about getting pics up (which I'm quiet proud of and should become a sticky  ) so hope to see them soon
I'm fairly new to the VW scene, well, been into them for almost 2 years.. and I think you've picked the best VW and the best, most Friendly site around! Mk1's are addictive though, one's not enough If I had my way and the girlfriend didn't stop me, I'd have about 4 by now

Thanks all
Id be the same, but got no more room for any other cars
As for my motor, the previous owner blew the 1.8gti lump up & could only find a 1.6gti to replace it (bit of a shame) but im so impressed with the power.
Blew away a Polo GT n a 1.9 205 gti the other day! was quite funny!!
I will eventually look to replace with the 1.8 lump, but funs are low at the mo.
I will post pics as soon as I can work out how?? any help?
Cheers Dean.

I think there is a thread on how to post pics but you need a hosting account for example photobucket.
Sounds like you 1.6 engine has had some work done to it to blow away a 1.9 GTI. Get some pics up.
