I'm new and have roof trouble please HELP!

I've recently bought a white 1990 Karmann GTI cab. The roof needs replacing and i want to keep it as standard as poss. I hear conflicting stories, should it be a White or Black vinyl roof. The one it has at the min is black but i'm not sure if its the original. Can somone help please? :dontknow:  Cheers!

if  you look at my web site both are cars have black roofs on which i replaced from white . because white is a pain to keep clean

dear god, i thought about putting my new hood on myself too, saw a 'how to' and decided i'd rather not!!!

I used Car hoods direct, who were brill, came to my work and did it there for me, too about 3 hrs?  I was busy that day so not entirely sure.

However, i would suggest that going out when the frame is bare so that you can check it yourself for rust etc.

the bloke i had told me there was nothing wrong with my frame when i went out to pay him…. after i specifically ASKED if there was anything on the frame that might need replacing.
My rear window frame needs replacing as there is more rust than metal, which the fitter noticed cos he chipped some of it off on to my rear ledge, didn't tell me that though bizarrely.

However, that said, for the money ~?350, it was fitted brilliantly, they came to me, it's been on 5 months and it's brilliant, and it's got a guarantee.

I would go for black tbh cos white is a nightmare to keep clean, the dirt gets into the wee stipples in the vinly.  I've got black on mine, the one that was on the car when i bought it was navy, but looked rubbish on my grey car.  plus showed up the dirt that wee bit more.
So far the only thing that's shown up on my black one is the neighbours stupid cat muddy paw prints!!!
