I'm back ... in a 2009 Citigolf Mk1

Yep, I did it again. I recently bought another VW Citigolf Mk1 in metallic black with about 66 000kms and in pretty good nick. This one is number 068 out of the last 1000 built and I'm hoping to do a few minor mods. Updates to follow.

Great looking motor. If you don't mind me asking what does one of those fetch near you. In the uk we don't get tin tops past 1984 in that general shape. Thx

What's the availability of late Mk1's in S.A like these days?

Is there a Mk1 Club?
Or any websites where they appear for sale?

have family out their the is shed loads out their i mean loads
but import taxes are a real pain last time i looked into fetching vw buses over

Thanks guys … it's in good shape on the outside but needs some mechanical TLC. Sound should be done this weekend and then I'll get to dropping it a little and painting the rims.
golfcabrio … they stopped making the Mk1 and mine is one of the last 1000 numbered ones built between 2009 and 2010, only available in dark blue and metallic black with a 1.6i motor and semi-leather seats with a 20mm drop. They cost around R85 000 now (about 4 750 pounds I think) so they hold their value.
Backinblack … they are no longer in production but there are literally millions running around. There are many VW Clubs and they are super popular for modifying and working, even getting stripped down and used extensively as race cars, with parts being so cheap and plentiful.

I might end up with a lot of time on my hands so could look into the subject of export/import a little further! 🤔😉
