Hola from Sunny Suffolk

Hi Guy's and Gal's

I'm not new the the VW scene, I've owned quite a few now.

I've just lost my Mk1 cherry. I am the proud owner of a 1983 1.3 Driver. It has 188k on the clock and comes with loads on history.

It was used up untill Feburary this year. Its pretty solid all round. It only needs a rear panel, inner, outer off side rear arch and the hole in the roof repaired.

Its going to be painted R32 blue with clipper bumpers, a roll cage, 2ltr with a few tweeks, G60 front and rear disks and a few other things that I need to make my mind up on. I have a Mk3 8V GTi as a donor car for the engine, loom, brakes, dash etc. I hope to have it on the road for July 2012.

Wish me luck!! :D :D :D

Mk1 project is in full swing.

welcome to the club buddy

sounds like you have a nice plan there and the colour will look SWEET !

We have the mk1 owners club annual gathering on the 6-8th july 2012 which is a great friendly event full or fun games, entertainment some top quality cars and a few beers ;-) so maybe that could be your July date to have it done for ;-)

Make sure you check the beneifits of signing up as a paid member for just £15.00 a year, as with the discount you get from the club partners such as GSF etc you will make that back quickly with a build like yours

keep the photos coming

p.s whats that in the pic an EVO? Yours ?

Hi,

I'm just outside Beccles, about 3 miles. Do you have a local meet??

Thanks for the nice welcome.

Looks like in need it finished for the 5th July then!!  I will become a paid member, will give the misses something to by me for Xmas. lol I do hope the colour suits the car when its done. Its been a very hard to choose as I did like the colour it has now. I'll update with pic's most weeks, I'm going to get this done asap.

The Evo is mine. Its a 2006 Evo 9 FQ 340. I bought it new and have done lots to it, loads of carbon as you can see, loads of HKS bits and a few Apexi and its now running 400 bhp atw and 398lbft atw . I love the intercooler best, its HUGE!!
