Hello all just a quick hi from me. I don't have a mk1 yet but I'm looking to get one so i thought I'd check this place out and see if it's a cool place to hang out.

Any advice on what to go for for less than 1K would also be most appreciated.

less than 1k would probably need work mate but they're easy to fix compared to new cars and we try to help.

Do you want a floppy top (cabby) a pickup (caddy), a 5 door, a gti… what version do you think you'd like most?

It's a guide bud.  Just something to try and help newbies out.  Personally I used percentages and not the values on it.  To many factors affect price so you'd constantly change the guide which just isn't feasible as the committee already put a lot of effort into this site.  I applaud whoever wrote it as it helped me gauge worth too  :wink:
