hi to all aswell i have just joined aswell. i am only 15 but i will be getting a mk1 golf within the next month we know the one im getting its a 1.3 . but there are still a few things i need to find out….
the wheel pcd etc, dimensions of the boot, what is the biggest or most powerful engine that you could put in a mk1 it has to be a snug fit though as i dont want it all cluttered , as i will be using this as a show car hopefully by next year.

Sounds like you've got some big plans for the car already! The wheel pcd of Mk1 Golfs in 4 x 100. The boot is 13.0cu.ft/260litres…not sure about the measurements though, is it so you know what sound system you can cram in?    As for your engine question, I would post up in the technical sections for some ideas, with the 1.3 being a small block you would have to change the engine mounts to put in a big block.
