Hi..

New guy here, possibly the youngest? 15? have been into vehicles all my life and as 17 is only 14ish months away I have decided that I should probably start saving for a car and ins, and a Mk 1 really takes my fancy, wondered if someone could explain about all the different models etc? ie. cabs, GTI's and so on? and what they would be like on insurance? any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Lawry :D

Hi Lawry

Check out the buyers guides, timeline etc on front page.

Unless your minted and mad (to spend serious money) I'm guessing insurance will be out the question on a Gti for you. No worries though as you can have plenty of fun in a small block MK1 and just make it look tidy 8)

Keep your eyes peeled as you may find yourself a bargain resto project and you got plenty of time to finish it before your 17

Cheers
Andy

probably looking about ?1,500 a year for a 1.1c, for a 1.3 driver around 1,700, not sure on all the rest 1.5's etc. But the GTi's will be really high, 1.6 probably 2,500-3,000 ish, 1.8 3,000-4,000

Rough guess but probably not far away, I had a 1.1
