So yes, hi!
I'm Daniel, or 'Deejay', 18 years young and from South Nottingham.

I have a 1981 GTI 1.6, quite lucky really considering it's my first car.
It's going for a makeover pretty soon as the respray from the previous owner is beyond awful!

Been driving it for around 6 months now and I am still in love with it  
 
Thought I'd jump over to these forums rather than ClubGTI as I eat, sleep and breathe Mk1's haha.

I'm sure you're much more familiar with the truth though. Welcome along mate and yes you are lucky having a Mk1 as your first car, mine was a Fiat Panda, you don't see many of them around these days.

Just thought I'd declare it as I read part of the forum which said that these forums were aimed at the more "mature" audience  

But yeah, Bluebabered, my girlfriend lives in Grantham so should see you about, I'll beep (if my horn works) or wave lol  

And yes, having one of your all time favourite cars as a first motor is pretty special  

welcome mate, can't imagine your insurance, i'm 18 paying 2k a year on a 1300!
