hi just wanted to say hi ,just joined the club on the look out for a mk1 in need of tlc or full resto.
i have just finished my old school 5 gt turbo back to std condition and now im on the look out for a mk 1.
just had a reed through your site and im well chuffed with all the info

Maybe not but some of us do appreciate the time and effort involved in producing results like your R5 Turbo. What sort of condition was it when you started?

bit rough brought it with a smokey turbo and blone box had done 134000 miles fixed it ran it for six mounths.
then thought ide sort it …..
2 new sils,2 rear arches, windscreen scuttle and sort the doors out remove all the rot . when it went for paint i rebuilt the engine and box , luckily i was working for graham good racing and had use of all the tool and equipment . well happy with it couldnt sell …. but it needs a friend bring on the golf !

lovely looking 5, glad to see one in orignal condition not many of these about
