hi, sort ov a new member

hi all
a good friend ov mine has just bought a mk 1 golf soft top and needs a bit ov work doing on it the prob is he dont know any1 who has any connections with VW and he dont know much about cars lol.
cuz iv done my bit on cars over years and i have internet hes asked me 2 do a bit ov a looking 4 him, so here i am lol
iv not seen the car yet but hes been told by a VW used parts in blackburn that he has his work cut out with a mk1 golf ?(thay didnt see the car) is this true?
his plan with the golf is 2 do it up a and update a few things in the golf
maybe u guys and girls cud offer advise and point him  the right way in what 2 do and what not 2 do?

It shouldn't be too bad for him unless he's got a real basket case. The MK1 is vastly more reliable and rock solid than a lot of other cars of the same age!

Difficult to know what to suggest he should do without seeing some pics of the car, can you post any for him?

Worth him check out the cabby buying guide on home page - some useful tips in it even though he's already bought it!
