Hi! New MK1 Owner!

 Hi all! Just bought my first ever MK1, an early cab. will get round to uploading pics soon but for now…. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1980-Volkswagen-Golf-mk1-Convertible-GLI-Motd-and-taxed-/321223004634?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4aca6211da#ht_1395wt_1170ent to test drive and to be fair the bloke was honest, he accepted it as part ex on an audi a4 and told me if i wanted to take a punt on it he would take £500 cash. Runs like a dream, gear changes smooth and engine never missed a beat. all electrics lights switches etc working perfectly. Only rust on her is slight bubbling on the boot lid and around the passenger door handle! ( have already sourced a new door)

 Not sure really what to do with it, would love to do a full â€‹shell restore but just dont have the money. My daily driver is a 6n2 Polo GTI, The MK1 has MOT till next may and is in overall good nick with not much visible rust at all, Im going to strip it down a bit to investigate further!

 Open to ideas for this project!

  Hi mate, unfortunately the car is now uninsured! and want to get it tip top before I take it to any shows, although I may pop along to the next one in the Polo! Currently trying to get together a list of parts for the Golf, done all the usual checks for rust etc, hoping I can find someone who knows a bit more about them (as this is my first old VW) to have a look and see if they can scout any problems out for me!

Ok fair enough Weather was absolutly terrible at the show

There may be an indoor show wer go to start of November + you got Santa Cruz start of December its one of my favourite events all year!!
