Hi new member with a big bum'd golf :)

Hi
I hope you dont mind a booted golf owner on her lol
My name is John, I'm 35 and live in Hitchin  :D
Some of the dubbers among you may already know me as i'm no stranger to VW's (or the forums) and i have just bought my 15th dub.
Its a 1.5 MK1 Jetta and has been sat in a barn for last 10 years owned by an old guy who sadly passed away not long ago. Looking through the rust, dust, dirt, hay and mushrooms there is a pretty decent project car underneath :D I need to take it for an mot but not sure how much rust is too much for the mot, the front wings are holed but i wouldnt call them dangerous and the rear wheel arche may need a little attention. i have two holes in the n/s seal that will need doing so that and a good service will be my 1st jobs :)
I dont really have any plans for it yet as i have only owned it for a few days so i'm still checking it out, here are the only photo's i have of the car and its rust lol, the photo's really dont do it justice though its a lot more solid looking in person  :D

this is the worst part of the car from what i have seen so far, N/S sill and bottom of the doors, but if the doors go through the mot they are staying lol

i'l try and get some more photo's tomorrow if the rain stays away

Hi welcome  8)

Get yourself a project thread up Your Other Cars and Projects so that we can all see your progress!

There's a couple of other Jetta projects in there too that could prove useful.

Welcome & good luck with the Jetta.

Did you get it off eBay? As I saw it on there a few weeks ago.

its a pretty resonable price, to be honest it wasnt worth a lot more than that as it has a lot of work to be done to get it road worthy again.
i might just go for the rat look and save myself a lot of work lol

Does look like there is alot of work needed.
It's already rat look  so just get it MOTed & then start using it.

i want to slam it on 13x8" ats classics :)
The guy i got it off was moaning at me coz he turned down a £400 offer and he expected me to pay that, cheeky git lol
