wellll, my car its only 1.1 cos i cant afford to insure gti etc. but wud love one soon. but id put it in my car cos its great condition. the body work it amazin, needed sum slight work, cv joint etc. apperntly has rare gti seats in it tho...they need bit of refurbin. and gti interior. has a wicked exhaust.. makes a meaty noise. got to work on it tho! ill get sum pics of my beast. oohhh we got it to 110mph so is good runner for 1.1 sounds swweeeet

Hi and welcome - Sounds like a dogdy speedo or wrong size tyres/wheels. You'd be lucky to get 100mph out the 1.1, unless its one of Steve Matthews special small block mk1s

100mph blooming eck!!

I haven't gone above 60 in my 1.1. She's my lady!!

My 1.3 only just made 100mph (downhill section of the M25) - is that 1.1 a Formel E? (higher compression 1.1 engine with 3+E gearbox)

hmm i dont think the engine or gear box is any diff...ill get my dad to find out lol..cos im no use askin! it does hav a lot of power for a 1.1 tho..loke pullin away and stuff..it flys..gettin up to speed and stuff! haha
