Hi, MK1 Track Toy now joined

Hi, I have been on the forum a couple of times but never joined full membership, but I have now!

I was going to sell my toy but decided to keep her. Had my campaign model about 2.5 yrs now or thereabouts. It was fully restored by the previous owner - full down to bare metal restoration by Dubsport back in 2002 with new 2l 8v engine, full leather inetrior etc. Total cost including the car was ?10,800.00 and I have a shed full of receipts and photos to back this up. I paid him ?800.00 for it in full working order and 12 mths MOT - I think I got a bargain  

Anyway, I ran it on the road for 6 mths and decided to strip it prep for the track. out came the interior and sold for ?500.00 along with all the interior stripped and put away somewhere in the garage!

Roll cage. ploybushed, new 4 branch added along with new system by PipeWerx, and a couple of strut braces and off onto the track we went.

Ran it like this for 18mths then put it into Renntech and let Tim Cooper play with it. Out it came with a new Audi bottom end, 8v head, shrick cam, gas flowed head, rear disc conversion and a few other bitys and bobs.

Now running about 155bhp and stops on a sixpence. Love it to bits but I have the need for more power now. I am thinking about either a G60 or 1.8T conversion - not sure but will know after talking to Tim in the new year.

Anybody at Oulton Park on the 7th february? I have booked and its with Focused Events and Performance Cars Magazine is there also. Only costing ?125 and open pit lane

Looks good - and 7th February looks tempting. I started a similar thread but suggested open pit lane day on 18th or 25th Feb. The 7th is a Saturday - what's the maximum number of cars which will be booked for this day?

Not sure to be honest but when I have been to open pit you normally get about 40 ish I would say. I think I recall 42 being the maximum number of cars on the track at any one time.

I have been know to be worng though   :dontknow:

I will defo be there so I am one of that number

Nicely prept track beast!

I think i am going to pop down for a couple of hours. Im hoping to get my track car finished in the next couple of months so it will be good to see what other people have done with theirs.
