hi. looking at a mk1 gti with a bit of work

hiya, been reading up on some subjects for a while now, i should hopefully be getting a mk1 gti 1988 1.8ltr . body works great but will require new brakes and a replacment clutch. anything difficult about changing either i should know about ?

this will be a second car, Ive owned VAGs for a few years but Ive currently got an 08 leon cupra K1. so fancy something alittle more old school! thanks
