hi guys just thought i would say hello , been looking for a decent mk1 for about 5 years and got 1 last month 1.1 c with a 1800 16v on carbs and cage etc and loving it  . i also have a mk5 gti which is a fantastic car had it revo's and a full milltk and now it's 264 bhp  i run the somerset cgti also . anyways im off looking around you site now

How do you rate the mkV?  Obviously not as good as the mk1 :wink:

ha ha , don't get me wrong the mk1 is great but the mk5 is a all round package . i can drive that for miles and miles in a day and it's easy relaxed driving whih the power and handling . when i was looking for a mk1 a friend of mine said you will never beat the steering on a mk1 , well i have to say he is wrong ! mk5 is great but at the same time the mk1 is great fun to drive   best of both worlds i guess

mk1 is now having some work done , engine out and a 9a going in back on motronic , getting the bay painted too
