I bought a red mk1, had it for a year before finally admitting red was not my colour.
I sold it and bought a black one!
Feel a little twinge when I see red ones but I made the right decision.

The Mars red is ok, but i just printed out a black mk1 Gti with the colour coded clipper it on it and im in love. I don't think i will want to search for another Mk1 because mine is mint, no rust, no welding 3k for a full respray then i think
I decided to go for a golf after my garage (the phirm) were talking about all there project work and how good the cars are to work on, and the engineering is sound. They found a guy who had one and here i am now!
I love the drive of the car, speed just when you need it.

Horses for courses I guess. I specifically wanted a Mars Red Golf. Welcome aboard anyway!
Cheers,

My first Golf ('82 1.3 CL) was Mars Red, and I never got so many compliments from passers-by as when I had it resprayed (in the same colour)…
Be aware, Vex, that changing the colour of a car (from anything to anything else) usually devalues it somewhat.
