hi im a new mk1 owner to the site

hi my name is joe and i have a 1981 mk1 golf N its 1100cc in lido green ( cool colour)     . it has 54,000 genuine miles and only had 2 previous owners before myself. i live in margate, in kent and was hoping to show my golf at rallies etc. how would i go about doing this. i think its a mk1 series 2? but im not sure. thanks for allowing me to jhoin the club and hope to see some of you soon!!

hi i have got some pics but i do not know how to put them on if anyone knows how can they let me know. i am in the middle of restoring it at the moment just small areas of rust that i have treated and a few bits that some jealous b*****d decided to damage when it was outside my house i know who done it but the police wont do anything even though i have it on cctv and thanks for the welcome  

Thats not on mate. Have you shown them the CCTV and how good is the quality ie can you positively I/D the person? How do you know who it is?

If you get no joy, go and bang on their front desk at the station and ask to speak to the Inspector. They are obliged to investigate it.

I dare say the police would be interested in the footage if it captured you speeding up the driveway  

the police around my way are a waste of time you would be better of doing this    they really p**s me off but theres nothing i can do about it at the moment but it will be sorted no one touches my baby.

anyway thanks for the support it makes me    to know that at least someone cares also ive been in touch with volksmagic but i could not get through will try again on wednesday.

Hope you get it fixed soon and it turns out better than it was before, I can see why the police would act upon CCTV evidence but if the criminal is under age then its difficult to get any justice. I suffered this whilst living in coventry, both mine and the missus' cars were vandalised :evil: mindless scum bags.

hi i am sorry i have not been in touch been real busy working (6am-10pm) had to get a job finished. anyway the person that damaged the motor is about 45-50 and is someone i used to get on with really well but he started taking the p*ss out of me so i fu**ed him off they wont do anything because the cctv does not show his face clearly (so they say)
i am living in margate but i used to live in dartford and before that charlton (behind the old football ground). bit of good news guess what i found at my local breakers yard a mk1 golf it had been completely crushed at the front end (must have been run over by a tank) but i got some of the spares that i needed (2 window winders for ?1) anyway how is everyone

sorry have not been in touch been real busy working any way the person that  damaged my golf was over 40 years of age the police said the cctv did not show his face clearly (yea right) they are a waste of time. anyway found a great place for mk1  spares that is local to me ?8 for a rear brake cylinder so if anyone neads anything let me know and ill find out how much it is and let you know speak to you all soon  

have you had bad experiances with them as i was recomended to them?
