hello lady37. Welcome to the club!

I like you joined just as was looking to buy a mk1. I found that the club have been more than helpful even on trivial issues that with hindsight were obvious.  The buying guides on the top right of the screen on the homepage are priceless when buying a mk1 along with asking questions over any worries you have with the condition of the car you are looking at.

Luckily for me, my new lhasa green mk1 arrives on Saturday- I am so excited.  It has been worth the wait to find the right one for me.   :)

Good luck and congratulations of picking a m1 golf! :y:

Hi there

Good luck with finding your Golf. You'll never want to drive anything else once you own one.

My blue cab went off the road and I missed it so much that hubby bought me another one to keep me going! Now we've got three in the family and hubby is desperate for a Mk1 caddy!

You should only drive a car that puts a smile on your face whenever you get in it!!! :D

Couldn't agree more - thought it was only me that grins like a goon when he sees another mk1 on the road (even once drove down the motorway, saw a GTI on the other side, came off and - eventually    - caught him up just to wave… sad or what?

Tintop or cab? Tough one. Why not go for one of each…
Oh, welcome BTW!

You should drink more water.
1664 is 95% water.
Drink more beer? :)

Cab, every time :D

Sitting in work looking at the sunshine and looking forward to dropping the roof - and that's just in the winter!!!

And whoever said about wet arses being worth it - absolutely!!!

My last cab roof leaked so badly when it needed replacing that I had to drive with a half open umbrella on my knee in heavy rain, and empty it at traffic lights out the door!!! But would I have swapped it - No way!
