hi guys, i'm from sunny blackpool, just purchased a silver v reg (1980 i think) mk.1, i had a b reg mars red mk 2 for my 1st car n after some right  disasters i've returned to a dub, but it doesnt get dropped off till nxt weekend… cant wait.

It's going to be a LONG week!

yeah its gonna be a very long week.. just ran out of mot but it was a bargain, its a gti its a bit weird its got early interior with the 2 circle dash with a 1.6 but its got the full bumper and big bk lights, the only thing i can really see wrong with it is some one with very little taste or sense has changed the wheels at some point but appart from that it seems reasonably solid. I'll be able to tell more n get some pics as soon as its dropped off.

Hmmmmmm…. did you run a HPI check on it before you bought it mate?  Strange interior that??  Check the engine code and chasis number when you get a minute..

hey.. picked it up on sunday night all seems well so far, its exceptionally straight n solid, even if it does have a couple of emotional and electrical issues. was off yesterday n got so excited i started to strip her, gonna get it painted n have a good base for a bit of a project, thinking of putting a 2l 16v out of a mk.3 seems to be the most useable conversion for me (and the cheapest lol) if anyone has any views/ advice it would be much appreciated… most of my friends drive jap cars n i need some redemption and also something a can use down the twisties!  

Any chance of getting some pictures up?

confession to make wizz i dnt actually know how to put picks on i tried last nite to no avail, how do i do it? but today however i did purchase a abf? out of a mk3 with engine n imobiliser looms n alternator and i have a sprayer coming tonite to give me a price to give it a flick over

pics looks good, see what you mean about the wheels  

to me it does look liek a series 1 from interioretc, bumpers are right too, have a look in the boot, it may have a rear panel chaneg and they've put the laters series 2 panel on..

Most series 1 I've seen are V re which explains the interior and 1.6..

Maybe source yourself a series 1 panel for the back and put right..

I'm sure Crazyquiff will be able to help you out with that
