Hi guys, new here with my niggley 90 GTI cabby!
The niggles were annoying me soo much that I almost sold the car! 8O
lol
Luckily it didnt sell for soo little on the ebizlle & I've still got the car

The main problem now is the dash lights not working and the car stereo playing up, the fan is now working :-)
The fuse for the dash lighting keeps blowing and this has lead me to believe that there is a wiring problem of some sort, also mfa doesn't work but im not that fussed about this.
The problem with the CD player is that it doesn't play when the car is started unless you turn and hold the key towards the position of the starter, i.e. twist it towards the right (when facing the ignition). This could be a loose barrel connection within the barrel but I'm not expert.
Once again Hi guys, lovely site and lovelier people & I like what you've done with the place! lol
Any help tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

right from the sounds of things your cd player doesent have a permanant live to it and the switch live is from your ignition so a easy fix is to wire a permanant live to it then joint the switch live to the permant live .you will just have to turn it off every time you get out
as far as the mfa and dash lights you got a short somewhere i would say to start looking around the steering coloum due to you mfa not working

I regards to the wiring short Arrrghhhh lol
I'm gonna try & source another dash wiring loom cos I've removed the dash & couldn't find the short anywhere, I even tried putting in a larger capacity fuse n see if I could see sparks! Not a good idea cos all the remaining bulbs fried during the process!
Thanks again for the warm welcome guys.
