Hi Guy's, I'm new & in need of advice!!

Hello all! I'm kind of new to all this so please excuse my ignorance!

My parents kindly bought me a MK1 for my 17th birthday and now 9 year on I have finally found the cash to get it properly restored! While I'm waiting to get him back on the road I'm trying to find out as much info about it as possible but I'm not sure where to start.

I'm a little confused as to how you know what series it is or if it is some sort of special edition or not. I know all the models are a little different but mine seems to have trims in totally different places to all the other Golfs I've seen.

My car is a 5 door 1093cc hatchback registered in 1982 and the V5 form says it is a 'golf c formel E' what ever that means! Does anyone have any idea where I go to find out this sort of info??

Hi, if its 1982 then its going to be a series 2. Series 1 or 2 is based on model year. Also, the C formel E trim variant was launched in 1981 or sometihng.
