Hi from Wellington NZ

Hi, newbe from Wellington NZ. I've got three Golfs, two of them Mk1's.
The Silver one has done about 60K miles, 1st owner had it for over 27 years.



The Cab has done 130K miles, I've owned that about 7 years.



And the R has done about 2K miles, got that in April.

1st owner had it from new, I believe he died. Now my turn to keep it for a few decades, I think I would sell a lung before I sold the GTi

Whats it like getting spares for the mk 1's out there ???

I haven't needed too many parts for either car, most consumables are easy to get, bigger parts like radiators and windscreens etc are also available (non OEM). Otherwise I use friends in the UK to send bits over, currently waiting on a new handbrake cable to arrive.

Thanks, they're my babies.  I know of a few MK1 hardtops (one being restored) in Wellington, and I've seen a couple of cab's too. Not big numbers around. Seems much of the NZ VW scene is aircooled.
