Hi, I have just joined, and in the market for a big bumper cabrio (pref GTI) I used to be a big VW nut but have not been for a couple of years and now got the bug again in the past I have a number of aircooled buses and bugs plus 2 mk1 GTI cabs, mk1 GTI, mk2 GTI and a mk2 1.3 & a couple of polo's and Sharan TDI (and LUPO 1.4s that is sitting in my garage after a cambelt snapped with only 50k on the clock)  .  
I was looking for a mk2 16v but I keep looking at every mk1 cab that i see and remember all the fun i used to have in mine.  That is about it for now.

Update The Lupo has now had the engine rebuilt, and my search is about to start for that mk1 Cabrio, I have set my heart on a GTi and I think it will have to be the small bumper as I need a towbar (must needs sorry).  If anyone knows the where abouts of my first cab B162TFD please give me the nod.  It used to be Mars Red GTI, I think the guy that had it off me sprayed it black.

welcome to the club, being a newbie here myself i can say that the help from these guys is second to none, what they dont know isnt worth knowing, and your right, a gti mk1 cab is still the best fun car i ever had
