Hi from London

Hi all.
Been lurking here for a while, but thought I'd finally introduce myself.
I recently got my first Mk1 .. I'd owned 2 Mk2s back in the 90s, and had always wanted a Mk1 but for some reason never saw the one I wanted, or couldn't afford it. Finally (after having two Minis stolen!) I saw the one I loved for sale up near Nottingham, and it was love at first sight!
She's a 1982 GL, and has amazingly done only 56k miles since new.
The original owner drove her until 1989 when she was then garaged and not driven until last year! The new owner bought her for his son but his son never drove it as he didn't pass his test, and decided that a newer car would be more appropriate for when he did. So apart from a few miles she wasn't driven for over 20 years!
There were some initial running problems due to the fact that the old fuel had been lurking in her system for all those years, the petrol tank had rusted etc, so she spent a week over at Crazy Quiffs getting cleaned out and having fuel lines etc replaced.
As far as they can tell there were no modifications done to her at all, except that there were four headlamps instead of two, so they installed a new grille and returned her to the original state. She also had a Pioneer stereo fitted some time in the early 80s, with two tune-up speakers mounted on the dash (not super-attractive but they still look period) and two Pioneer woofers in the back parcel shelf.
Two of the tyres were apparently original, whilst the other two were from slightly later in the 80s. Needless to say these have been changed. And they also arranged for a very discreet Cobra alarm to be fitted, due to my recent bad luck with car thieves.
I'll try and get some pictures of the beautiful interior asap, as it is stunning.
