Hi from Japan

I am going to import mk1 convertible from UK to Japan, because Classic Line (LHD and Auto Trans.) was an availabe model here. Although I have not decided to chose some vehicle actually, I am interested in Rivage. (Because Sport Line was not installed the power steering absolutely. I have a handicap.) Then I have a question for you, guys. As far as I knew, there were three type of Rivage in UK. "Rivage, GTi Rivage and GTi RIvage (LT)." Since I am unsure, what the differece among three models such as engine, interior, power steering and so on. I am trying to define through the garally (brochure) on this site, but I could not find. (It is not so clear texts.) Please inform me the differences kindly. Thanks!

No power steering on the Rivage and only two models - one blue and one green, although some do have leather interio and some cloth, hope this helps.

Thanks for your information indeed!!

Oops! Since I thought that Rivage could have PAS (Power Assit Steering), your information helps me well. Thank you for your useful information. In terms of PAS conversion kit, if you could let me know a littel bit more detail please, it is quite appriciate for me.  Because I may have to import it in parallel, if I chose Rivage or Sportline. Does Clipper model has PAS original installed?

A German or US spec Classicline may have power steering and an auto box. The Rivage is basically the same ad the classic line and was available with an auto box.
Contact Jetta on here re the power steering option kit.

The Rivage came in 2 colours, classic blue pearl and classic Green pearl. The greens are rarer models.
All the greens came with leather interior and beige carpet, matching tonneau cover.
The blues could have leather as an optional extra. Usually fitted with the Mauritous blue interior and blue carpet and fabric tonneau cover. Later ones came eith a diagonal weave fabric and black carpet. Some also had a catalytic converter, so the BHP was reduced, slightly.
They had a better level of comfort with power roof, power windows and heated seats.
