Hi from Germany
I just found your interesting forum. Beside some other classic cars I own also a Golf Mk1 from 1982. It might be of some interest for the forum that I make video manuals how to repair these cars. Some of the videos have the Mk 1 as subject. Some more will be published soon.

In the technical section I will post the newest video on replacing the rear axis mounts.
