Hi from Bogotá, Colombia

Hello… My name is Camilo and first of all thanks for having me in this excellent owner club and please have patience with my writing in English.  I just buy a 1981 VW Golf Mk1 GTI black in good condition. This car is 2 owners and three with me. The odometer reads 199000 kms and has all the history complete since new. I just repair the engine and fix some minor mechanical problems. Here in Colombia is hard to fine a VW MK1 GTI in good condition since they are fast cars, and they have had terrible past. Well I was lucky. I think this is "the last mohican" literally !!! because I have taken a few years to find one. I love MK1 GTI since I owned one in 1984 and I bought it almost new. This car is fabulous dependable and fast. My former GTI suffer and accident with me in 1986 and I sell it after that. Now I decided to look for one and finally found this excellente car. Has some minor rust but since 2005 was on the road for only 1000 kms because the former owner went to China to work. I have order a lot of parts because I want my GTI in pristine condition. The body and interior of my car is in good condition but obviously needs new paint due to the aging.  I will post some pictures of the my car today.  :wink:

i had a great time in Cartegena a few of years ago, only stopped in Bogota to change planes unfortunately, if you buy me a ticket I will stuff all the mk1 golf goodies you want in my suitcase for you!

Jajaja. Sure… you will need a container or a cargo plane!! But you and everybody are very welcome here in Colombia.

Well you have come to the best place on Earth when it comes to MK1 knowledge I promise you!

I've only been a member for seven months and I've said this before but the people at this club are priceless.

Getting the plane load of parts to you is a different matter but I like a challenge   8O
