Hi from Abergavenny

Just like to say hi to you all. A few weeks ago I dragged the wife's Cabby out of the derelict  garage where it had sat for five years with swallows nesting above it. The plan was to get rid of it for a few hundred quid. Nearside wing is rusted right through after a bloke with cow horns on his pick up fitted a naff wing and gave it an expensive blow over.
Battery was shot but with jump leads on it started on second pull. Washed off the bird droppings and guess what? She wants to keep it!
Got a VW wing off a tin top. Got a local boy coming round to quote to quote for fitting, treating a few rust spots and spraying. Then looking to replace the Shaper alloys with refurbed original Snowflakes.
New discs and pads, oil, coolant and brake fluid change. Then, baby's back on the road again. Engine was rebuilt about 20k miles ago so no problems anticipated there.
I am just not looking forward to those MK1 brakes!
I'm sure I'll be back loads of times  as the project progresses.
Pilgramage to Wolfsburg is on the cards.

Hi from Abergavenny now with pictures

Here are a couple  of before pics. After we put a hose on it most of the nearside wing disintegrated.
