Hi and a couple of newbie Qs?

Hello all, Ive had a mk2 G60 for about 4 yrs but want a mk1 now.

I want a small rear light pre 80 version if I can find one.

If I cant can I weld a pre 80 pannel and where would I be able to get one?

Some useful links to sites that sell chrome bumper, trim and anywhere that sells pre 80 rear pannels would be very helpful at the moment thanks.

There are still a few series 1's (1974-80) to be had out there, GTI and non-GTI. These do seem to fall into either major restoration projects or minters.

You could weld a small light panel onto a series 2 mk1, but not really worth it and would probably detract from the cars value. Small light panels can be found 2nd hand, Crazyquiff at http://www.golfmk1.co.uk/ might be able to help you out.

If you've really got your heart set on a series 1, then you should be able to find yourself something. On the forum Dubboy is a big series 1 guru - owns 5 or 6 of them himself. I'm sure he'll have plenty of advice should you need it.

Thanks for pointing out benji but it looks a bit more work than I want to take on.

Anymore links to places that do mk1 body panels and chrome trim would be useful. I use to have some German site that did chrome bumpers, chrome trim, RMs, BBS outer rims and gold bolts, etc in my favourites but I cant find it now. I think it had cult in it (I know what your thinks but not cult society but similar), custom cult or something. Anyway was a fecking ace site!
